Service Terms and Conditions for Cleaners N16
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Cleaners N16 provides domestic and commercial cleaning services. By making a booking, the client agrees to these terms, which are designed to create a clear and fair service arrangement for both sides. In these terms, references to “we”, “us” and “our” mean the cleaning service provider, and “you” or “your” mean the customer or the person booking on behalf of the customer. These terms apply to all standard and one-off cleaning appointments, unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.
The purpose of these terms is to explain how a booking is made, how charges are calculated, what happens if an appointment is changed or cancelled, and how responsibility is handled in relation to access, property condition, and the disposal of waste. They also set out the legal framework under which our cleaning services are delivered. We aim to keep the terms practical, transparent, and consistent with current UK consumer and contract law.
Our service is provided on the understanding that all relevant information supplied at the time of booking is complete and accurate. This includes the address, the type of clean required, the size or condition of the premises, access arrangements, and any special instructions that may affect the work. If the details provided are incorrect or incomplete, the service may be delayed, adjusted, or re-priced to reflect the actual scope of work.
1. Booking process
Bookings for Cleaners N16 services may be requested through the agreed communication channel offered at the time of enquiry. A booking becomes confirmed only when we have accepted the request, the date and time have been agreed, and any required deposit or advance payment has been received. Availability is subject to scheduling, staff capacity, and the suitability of the requested service.
When you book a cleaning appointment, you are responsible for ensuring that the service requested matches your needs. Different tasks may require different durations, equipment, or cleaning materials. If the property requires specialist attention, such as a heavy-duty clean or additional sanitisation, this must be disclosed before confirmation. We reserve the right to amend the quote or decline a booking if the job description changes materially before the appointment.
If our team arrives and finds that the premises are significantly different from the information provided, we may adjust the service time or charge accordingly. In some cases, where the work cannot reasonably be completed within the booked slot, we may offer to reschedule or complete only the tasks that can be undertaken safely and properly within the time available. The final decision will depend on practical working conditions, safety, and fairness to all parties.
2. Payments and pricing
All prices are quoted in pounds sterling unless stated otherwise. Prices may be based on hourly rates, fixed service fees, or an agreed bespoke estimate, depending on the nature of the cleaner N16 service requested. Any quote given before inspection is an estimate only unless expressly confirmed in writing as a fixed price. Additional charges may apply if the property is larger, more heavily soiled, or more time-consuming than described at booking.
Payment terms will be explained at the point of booking. In many cases, payment is due on completion of the service, but some appointments may require payment in advance or a deposit to secure the slot. If a deposit is taken, it may be non-refundable where the cancellation rules below apply. We may also require immediate payment if the booking is for a high-demand date or a larger project. Failure to pay on time may result in refusal of future bookings and recovery action where appropriate.
Where card, bank transfer, or other electronic payment methods are accepted, you are responsible for ensuring that payment details are valid and authorised. Any banking charges imposed by your provider remain your responsibility unless agreed otherwise. If an invoice is issued, it must be paid by the stated due date. If payment is late, we may charge interest and administrative costs to the extent permitted by law. This clause does not affect any rights you may have as a consumer under mandatory UK law.
3. Cancellations, rescheduling, and access
We understand that plans can change, but cancellation rules are necessary to protect service capacity and staff time. If you need to cancel or reschedule, you must notify us as early as possible. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, cancellations made with reasonable notice may qualify for a full or partial refund of any advance payment, depending on the nature of the service and whether work has already begun in preparation.
For short-notice cancellations, missed appointments, or situations where access is not available at the agreed time, a cancellation fee may apply. This may also include cases where the property cannot be entered because no one is present to provide access, keys or codes are not supplied, or the premises are unsafe for work to begin. If our team is prevented from completing the service through no fault of our own, we reserve the right to charge for the time and costs reasonably incurred.
To allow the service to proceed smoothly, you must ensure that the premises are accessible at the booked time and that any relevant instructions are communicated in advance. This includes parking restrictions, alarm systems, key handling requirements, and any rules that affect entry or movement within the property. We are not responsible for delays caused by incorrect access information or by third parties who control entry to the premises.
4. Liability and service standards
We will take reasonable care and skill when delivering our cleaning service, and we will aim to carry out all work with professionalism and consistency. However, liability is limited to losses or damage caused directly by our negligence, breach of contract, or failure to perform the service with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, wear and tear, hidden defects, faulty fittings, or items that are already weakened, unstable, or improperly secured.
Before we begin work, you should inform us of any fragile items, valuable belongings, delicate surfaces, or special materials that require careful handling. If you do not provide this information, we cannot accept responsibility for damage that arises because an item was unsuitable for routine cleaning methods. We may decline to clean certain items or areas if we believe the task could cause harm to the property, our staff, or the contents of the premises.
Our liability for any claim arising from the service will, to the fullest extent permitted by law, be limited to the amount paid for the specific booking in question. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded under UK law. These terms are intended to be fair and legally valid, and they do not remove your statutory consumer rights.
5. Customer responsibilities
You agree to ensure that the property is in a suitable condition for cleaning to take place. This includes providing reasonable access, securing pets where necessary, and removing or protecting items that should not be handled. If the work area contains hazardous materials, biohazards, sharps, or dangerous substances, you must tell us in advance and arrange for any specialist treatment required. We do not provide services that would expose staff to unsafe conditions.
You are also responsible for checking that any instructions you give are clear and lawful. If you ask us to use a particular product, method, or route that could be unsuitable for the surface or environment, we may refuse that instruction. Where a customer asks for a specific result that cannot be guaranteed because of the condition of the property or materials involved, we will explain this before proceeding. A cleaning company cannot reasonably guarantee the removal of every stain, mark, or odour in all circumstances.
We expect customers to treat our staff respectfully. Abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or unsafe behaviour may lead to immediate termination of the booking without refund. This includes conduct by occupants, visitors, or anyone else present at the property. Where a service is terminated for such reasons, any payment already due remains payable. We may also refuse future bookings where behaviour creates a risk to staff welfare or the integrity of the service.
6. Waste regulations and disposal
Any waste removed as part of the cleaning work will be handled in accordance with applicable UK waste rules and reasonable environmental practices. We will not remove controlled, clinical, hazardous, or illegal materials unless this has been specifically agreed in advance and can lawfully be managed by the service provider. Where waste transfer is involved, it will be the responsibility of the parties to ensure that disposal arrangements comply with the relevant regulations.
You must inform us if the property contains waste that may require special handling, including sharp objects, bodily waste, mould contamination, chemical residues, batteries, paint, solvents, or electrical items. Ordinary household waste generated during a standard cleaners N16 appointment may be bagged and disposed of only if this forms part of the agreed service. We reserve the right to leave any item or waste that we are not permitted to remove, or that presents a health and safety risk.
We may refuse to transport waste that is excessive in quantity or that requires licensing, specialist vehicles, or specific disposal documentation. Where the customer remains responsible for disposal, we will leave the items in a safe and appropriate location, where possible. You acknowledge that waste and recycling rules may vary depending on the type of material involved, and you agree to cooperate with any reasonable request to ensure lawful disposal.
7. Complaints, amendments, and service changes
If there is any issue with the service, you should notify us as soon as reasonably possible after the appointment. This allows us to review the matter fairly and, where appropriate, to revisit the work or offer another reasonable remedy. We may ask for photographs or a description of the concern so that we can assess whether it relates to the booked service, the condition of the property, or circumstances outside our control.
We may make changes to these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any updated version will apply to future bookings once published or otherwise communicated to you. The terms applicable to your booking are those in force on the date the booking was confirmed, unless a later change is required by law or agreed expressly in writing. If a variation is necessary due to operational reasons, we will aim to act reasonably and inform you in advance where practical.
No waiver by us of any term or condition shall be taken as a continuing waiver of that term. If any part of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining sections will continue in full force to the extent permitted by law. This means the agreement can still operate fairly even if one provision needs to be adjusted by a court or other competent authority.
8. Governing law
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere. If a dispute arises, both parties should first try to resolve it informally and in good faith before taking formal steps.
By using the service, you confirm that you understand and accept these terms. This document is intended to create a clear framework for the provision of Cleaners N16 services while preserving your rights as a customer and our rights as a service provider. Our aim is to deliver reliable cleaning work under fair conditions, with transparent rules on booking, payment, cancellation, liability, waste handling, and legal responsibility.
